Terms of service

Effective date: August 2026

Please read these terms before you book. By booking with us, you agree to them.

We assemble, relocate, and disassemble trampolines. A crew comes to your property, does the agreed work, and leaves the area tidy. These terms explain what we do, what we are responsible for, and what we need from you so the visit goes smoothly.

The Trampoline Assembly Co is operated by Envelope Group Limited, trading as The Trampoline Assembly Co. In these terms, "we" and "us" means Envelope Group Limited. "You" means the customer who books the service.

1. These terms

These terms, together with the booking you confirm, form the agreement between you and us. They take effect when you confirm your booking.

We may update these terms from time to time. Updates apply only to future bookings, unless we agree otherwise with you. The version that applies to your job is the one in effect when you booked.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. If anything here conflicts with those Acts for a consumer, those Acts apply.

2. What we do

We provide:

  • Assembly of new or unassembled trampolines.
  • Disassembly of assembled trampolines.
  • Relocation, either as a single same-day visit, or as two visits where you move the trampoline in between. See section 9.
  • Fitting and refitting of accessories connected with the work, such as basketball hoops, ladders, and anchor kits.

We assemble to the manufacturer's instructions for your trampoline. If you ask us to assemble something in a way the instructions do not describe, we may decline, or do it on the basis that we are not responsible for the result.

What we do not do

The following are out of scope:

  • In-ground trampolines, and any excavation, drainage, retaining, or groundworks.
  • Levelling, building, or altering the surface the trampoline sits on.
  • Electrical, plumbing, gas, or any work that needs a licensed trade.
  • Any work that needs a building consent, council permission, or a landlord's or body corporate's permission to proceed.
  • Repairs, modifications, or alterations to a trampoline beyond what the instructions describe.
  • Disposal. We do not take away trampolines, parts, or packaging. See section 10.
  • Supplying trampolines, replacement parts, or anchor kits.

If a job turns out to need any of the above, we will tell you and stop at the point it becomes necessary. We can often still complete the rest of the job.

3. Your trampoline

You choose and buy the trampoline. You are responsible for making sure it suits your space, your intended use, your ground surface, and your access, and for any measurements that matter. Checking that the trampoline will fit and can be used safely where you want it is up to you, unless we have specifically agreed to assess your site as part of the job.

We are not responsible for the design, quality, safety, suitability, warranty, or instructions of the trampoline itself. Those sit with the retailer or manufacturer you bought it from.

Trampolines carry inherent risk. Weight limits, age limits, supervision, and safe use are set by the manufacturer and are your responsibility once we have finished. We are not responsible for how the trampoline is used after we leave.

4. Pricing

Our prices are fixed for the trampoline model and service you select, and include GST. Your booking confirmation shows the price and what it covers.

Your price assumes:

  • The trampoline is on your property, with all parts, fixings, and instructions present and near where the work will happen.
  • Ordinary access to the work area, including a gate or path wide enough to carry frame sections through, and nearby lawful parking.
  • A clear, safe, reasonably level work area, with no obstructions.
  • No unusual carries, steep or terraced sections, retaining walls, steps, or restricted access, unless you tell us before you book.

If the information we are given turns out to be incomplete or wrong, the job may take longer, cost more, need another person, or in some cases not go ahead. We will always talk to you before doing anything that changes the price.

Some jobs cannot be priced online, for example an in-ground trampoline, an address outside our service area, or a request we have not listed. Where that is the case we will review the job and confirm a price with you before anything is booked.

5. Before we arrive

You book by confirming a service, a price, and a time with us. The time we agree is when we expect to arrive. It is not how long the job will take. Where a job runs long or an earlier job overruns, we will let you know as soon as we can.

To help the visit go smoothly, please:

  • Have the trampoline, or its boxes, on the property and as close to the work area as is safe for you to manage.
  • Clear the work area, including furniture, garden equipment, washing lines, and anything else in the way.
  • Cut long grass where you can. It makes locating parts and fixings much easier.
  • Keep children and pets clear of the work area while we are working.
  • Secure or contain any dogs.
  • Tell us in advance about anything we should know, including known irrigation, cabling, drainage, or services under the ground.

By booking, you confirm that you own the property, or that you have permission from the owner, landlord, body corporate, or other relevant person for us to carry out the work, including any anchoring, access, or relocation you ask us to do.

Being present. Because our work is outdoors, you do not need to be present, as long as we have safe access to the work area and everything we need to complete the job. If you will not be there, please confirm access arrangements with us in advance and be reachable by phone.

6. Access and site conditions

We need safe access to your property, somewhere reasonable to park nearby, and a clear path to the work area.

Trampoline frames are large and rigid. Some sections cannot be carried through a standard gate or around tight corners. If we cannot get the trampoline or its parts to or from the work area safely, we may not be able to start or finish the job. See section 11 on wasted visits.

If the site is unsafe, or conditions on the day make the work unsafe, we may not be able to start or finish. See sections 12 and 18.

7. Placement, ground, and pool barriers

You choose where the trampoline goes. You are responsible for the suitability of that position, including the ground surface, the fall zone around and above the trampoline, and clearance from fences, walls, trees, structures, washing lines, and overhead wires.

We assemble on reasonably level ground. Trampolines are not designed to sit on a slope. If the position you have chosen is not level enough for safe assembly, we will tell you, and we may need to move to a different position or stop. Any resulting change to the job may affect the price or the time it takes.

Pool barriers. Under New Zealand law, a residential pool barrier must not have climbable objects within a set distance of it. A trampoline placed near a pool fence can put you in breach and can create a serious drowning risk. Choosing a compliant position is your responsibility. We will tell you if we notice an obvious problem, but we do not assess or certify pool barrier compliance, and we are not responsible for it.

8. Anchoring

Anchoring holds a trampoline down in high wind. Anchor kits are not usually supplied with a trampoline, and we do not supply them.

If you supply an anchor kit, we will fit it as part of the job, provided the ground is suitable and it is safe to do so. If the ground is unsuitable, for example solid rock, concrete, or fill we cannot drive into, we will tell you and may not be able to fit it.

Underground services. Anchors go into the ground. We do not detect or locate underground services. Please tell us before the visit about anything below the surface, including irrigation, drainage, cabling, gas, water, or a septic field. Where you have not told us and we damage something below the surface, we are not responsible for it.

If you do not anchor. Trampolines move in high wind, and an unanchored trampoline can travel a long way and cause serious damage or injury. Where anchoring is recommended by the manufacturer and you decline it, or you do not supply a kit, we will note that with you. To the extent that harm or damage results from the trampoline not being anchored after we have told you anchoring is recommended, we are not responsible for it.

Anchoring reduces the risk of a trampoline moving. It does not eliminate it. In severe weather, no anchor kit is a guarantee.

9. Relocation

We relocate trampolines in one of two ways:

Same-day relocation. We disassemble, transport, and reassemble the trampoline in a single visit. Both addresses need to be ready and accessible on the day.

Two visits. We disassemble the trampoline, you move it, and we return to reassemble it once it is at the new address. You are responsible for transporting and storing the trampoline between visits, and for keeping the parts and fixings together. We do not store trampolines.

For a two-visit relocation, the second visit is booked separately and subject to availability. Where a long period passes between visits, or parts go missing in the meantime, we may need to treat the reassembly as a new job and reprice it.

For a same-day relocation, if the destination is not accessible, not ready, or not suitable when we arrive, we may not be able to complete the job. Section 11 applies.

10. Disposal

We do not dispose of trampolines.

We do not take away frames, mats, nets, pads, springs, parts, or packaging, and we cannot arrange disposal on your behalf. Where we disassemble a trampoline, we leave the parts stacked tidily on your property. Disposal is your responsibility.

11. Changing or cancelling a booking

If you need to change or cancel, please give us as much notice as you can, and at least 24 hours. We will move you to another time.

We schedule by area and plan each day as a route. A booking cancelled on the day cannot be filled, so:

If you cancel or reschedule on the day of your booking, or we arrive and cannot start or finish the job for a reason on your side, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of up to the full value of the booking. Reasons on your side include no safe access, the work area not being ready, the trampoline or its parts not being on site, no one reachable where we need a decision, or the destination not being ready on a relocation.

We will always try to be fair about this. We will normally waive or reduce the fee where the issue was outside your reasonable control, and we will talk to you before charging anything.

If we need to change or reschedule a visit, we will let you know as soon as we can, and you can cancel that booking without penalty. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for other costs you may incur because of a delay, cancellation, or change to the timing of our visit.

12. Weather

We work outdoors, and we work in the rain.

Where wind, rain, storm conditions, or ground conditions make the work unsafe, or make it likely the trampoline or your property would be damaged, we reserve the right to reschedule. That is our call, and we will make it as early in the day as we reasonably can.

Rescheduling for weather is free. There is no charge to you, and we will offer you the next suitable time we have.

13. How we do the work

We carry out the work with reasonable care and skill, following the manufacturer's instructions for the trampoline.

We take reasonable care to avoid damage. Some marking is an ordinary consequence of the work and is not damage. This includes flattened or marked grass, indentations where frame legs sit, wear where parts are laid out, and marks on packaging or on hidden surfaces.

We are responsible where damage is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or ordinary wear and tear.

14. Missing, damaged, and worn parts

We assemble the trampoline you have. We are not the retailer or manufacturer, and we do not supply parts.

Missing or incorrect parts. If parts are missing, incorrect, or damaged in the box, we will tell you and describe the problem so you can take it up with the retailer. Obtaining the right parts is your responsibility. Where we can, we will complete as much of the job as possible and arrange to return once you have them. A return visit is a separate booking and we will tell you the cost before we book it. If missing or incorrect parts stop us completing the job, you remain responsible for the work completed up to that point, unless the problem was caused by us.

Worn and degraded parts. Trampolines that have been outdoors for years have rusted bolts, seized fittings, perished pads, brittle netting, and fatigued springs. These parts can break, shear, or fail during disassembly or reassembly even when handled with reasonable care, and sometimes there is no way to tell before we start.

Where a worn, rusted, corroded, or degraded part breaks during the work, we are not responsible for it and we will not replace it. We will tell you what has happened and, where the trampoline can still be assembled safely, we will finish the job. Where a failed part means the trampoline cannot be assembled safely, we will tell you, stop, and you remain responsible for the work completed up to that point.

We may decline to reassemble a trampoline where we consider its condition makes it unsafe to use.

15. Damage to your property

We take care on your property and aim to leave the work area as we found it. If we cause damage through our work, tell us promptly and we will work with you to put it right.

Section 13 sets out the ordinary surface marking that is not damage. Section 8 covers underground services.

We hold public liability insurance covering the work we do.

16. Our workmanship guarantee

If you think we have not assembled your trampoline according to the manufacturer's instructions, tell us as soon as you reasonably can. If you tell us within 30 days and the issue is covered by this guarantee, we will come back and put it right at no charge.

This guarantee covers our workmanship only. It does not cover:

  • Faults with the trampoline itself, or missing, damaged, or incorrect parts.
  • Worn or degraded parts, including rust, corrosion, and material fatigue.
  • Normal wear and tear, or damage from use after we have left.
  • Weather, wind, storm damage, or movement of an unanchored trampoline.
  • Misuse, overloading, or accidental damage.
  • Any changes, adjustments, repairs, or work done by you or someone else after we finish.
  • Trampolines we were asked to assemble in a way the instructions do not describe.

This guarantee is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, which continue to apply beyond 30 days.

17. Our crew and subcontractors

We may carry out your job directly, or use an approved installer. An approved installer may be an employee, contractor, or subcontractor.

Where we use an approved installer, we remain responsible to you for the service provided under these terms. The installer carries out the work on our behalf and to our standards.

We take reasonable care when selecting approved installers. We may require them to hold their own public liability insurance, but whether any insurance responds to a particular claim depends on the circumstances and the terms of the relevant policy.

If you have any issue with the work, contact us directly so we can help resolve it.

18. Health and safety

Your safety, our safety, and the safety of anyone else on site come first.

We may stop or decline a job, without penalty to us, if the site or situation is unsafe. This includes unsafe ground, structures, or surfaces, conditions that put anyone at risk, uncontained dogs, and behaviour that makes it unsafe or unreasonable for us to work, including aggression or intoxication.

Please keep the work area clear and safe, and keep children and pets away from where we are working. A partly assembled trampoline is not safe to be on or near.

19. Payment

Payment is due on completion, unless your invoice states another due date. If we send an invoice after the visit, payment is due within 1 day of the invoice date, unless we agree otherwise.

We do not usually take a deposit. For larger jobs we may ask for one before the visit, at our discretion, and we will tell you in advance if we do.

We accept bank transfer, card payment, and online payment.

If an invoice is unpaid after its due date, we may recover reasonable debt collection and other reasonable costs we incur in recovering the amount, to the extent the law allows. We will contact you before taking that step.

20. If we cannot complete a job

If we are unable to complete a job, we will do what we reasonably can to resolve it with you, including completing it at another time or refunding you for work we have not done.

21. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for carrying out the work with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other law that cannot be limited or excluded.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss of income, loss of savings, or loss of opportunity arising from a booking, delay, cancellation, or reschedule.

For non-consumer bookings, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any one job is limited to the amount paid or payable for that job.

This section does not limit our responsibility for loss or damage caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

Business customers. If you are acquiring the services for the purposes of a business, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 is excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law, and that it is fair and reasonable for the parties to be bound by this exclusion. If you are not acquiring the services for business purposes, this section does not apply.

22. Photos and job records

We may take photos before, during, and after the work as a record of the job. These can include existing damage, product labels, missing or damaged parts, access conditions, the completed work, and anything that prevents completion. By booking, you consent to us taking and keeping these photos for our own job records. We keep them only as long as we reasonably need them for that purpose. We will not use them for marketing or publish them without asking you separately.

23. Privacy

We collect your contact details and job information so we can price, book, carry out, and invoice your job, and stay in touch about it.

To run the service, we may share your information with the people and tools we use to deliver it, including our installers, payment providers, accounting software, insurers, and professional advisers. Some of this information is stored in third-party software we use to run the business. We handle your information in line with the Privacy Act 2020.

You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you by emailing hello@trampolineassembly.co.nz. If a privacy breach happens that could cause serious harm, we will act on it promptly and notify you and the Privacy Commissioner where the law requires.

Our full privacy policy explains in more detail what we collect, how we use and store it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it.

24. Complaints, disputes, and governing law

If something is not right, tell us. Email hello@trampolineassembly.co.nz and we will work with you to sort it out. Most things are resolved quickly with a conversation.

These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Any dispute may be dealt with by the New Zealand courts or, where it applies, the Disputes Tribunal.
